Rigid PVC calendered film continues to occupy an important position in global thermoforming blister packaging market, especially within pharmaceutical blister, hardware consumer‑goods and electronic‑component tray sectors.
Benefiting from moderate forming temperature, good rigidity and excellent dimensional stability, PVC film can run stably on high‑speed thermoforming machines. Compared with PET and PP alternatives, it delivers obvious cost advantages for mass‑volume blister production. For higher moisture‑barrier requirements, composite PVC‑PVDC laminated grades are widely adopted for medicine packaging.
Global converters are paying higher attention to compliance performance. Low‑migration, REACH‑compliant PVC grades become basic requirements for export orders. Although substitution materials keep growing, PVC still maintains stable demand in cost‑sensitive thermoforming scenarios across Asia, North America and other regions.
Manufacturers keep optimizing calendering technology to achieve tighter thickness tolerance, better surface performance and consistent thermoforming behavior, to satisfy strict mass‑production standards from end‑users.
