FAQ
BOPP matte film (or matte-finish film) is laminated with other films for use in various packaging applications.
BOPP film offers numerous advantages—including light weight, high mechanical strength, and excellent dimensional stability—and is widely utilized in the packaging sector, particularly within the food packaging industry.
20μm BOPP matte film (or delustered film) is a biaxially oriented polypropylene film characterized by high haze and low gloss. It is frequently laminated with materials such as PE and CPP, and is widely utilized in the high-end packaging of food products, daily chemical goods, gifts, and more.
BOPP film itself possesses inherent qualities such as light weight, high mechanical strength, excellent dimensional stability, non-toxicity, odorless nature, superior chemical stability, and outstanding water and moisture barrier properties, making it a fundamental core material in the modern packaging industry. Specifically, the 20μm BOPP matte film—a specialized functional variant—achieves a diffuse reflection effect through the incorporation of matte masterbatch into its surface layer. This results in an appearance featuring a soft, paper-like texture with extremely low gloss levels (typically < 15). It offers a pleasant tactile feel and is free from harsh glare; furthermore, it demonstrates excellent printability, exhibiting strong ink adhesion and true-to-life color reproduction. It is also fully compatible with post-processing techniques such as UV varnishing and hot stamping.
In practical applications, 20μm BOPP matte film is rarely used in isolation; its primary value lies in being laminated with other materials—such as PE (polyethylene), CPP (cast polypropylene), aluminum foil, or nylon film. Through this lamination process, it integrates various functionalities—including heat sealability, high barrier properties, retort resistance, and grease resistance—thereby meeting a diverse range of packaging requirements. For instance, when laminated with PE, it is suitable for the flexible packaging of food items such as bread and pastries; when laminated with aluminum foil, it is ideal for products requiring protection from light and moisture, such as tea, coffee, and powdered milk. Its understated and elegant aesthetic significantly elevates the perceived quality of the product, leading to its widespread adoption across sectors including snack foods, health supplements, cosmetics, gifts, and book covers, where it serves the dual purpose of protecting the contents while enhancing visual presentation.
